I love to teach writing, and have some (often nontraditional) ideas about how to do so.  Having left full-time and a tenured position in academia in 2011, I now teach workshops and classes out of my home, in the community, through other institutions, and through private instruction. Click on the links under this category to find out more, or feel free to contact me.

You can also check out my (Slightly Qualified) Defense of MFA Programs here, or read my essay on the “contract model” of poetry workshop I’ve developed in this book.

(Oh, and I promise I’m a little more mature than that now. That was my first day of kindergarden, 1976.)
